Way to go insane caterpillar stuff.

OK, so what I heard termed "caterpillar weed" or something like that...has gone crazy. I started off without about 5 little stalks that didn't do much for about 6 months. I had an algae bloom (phosphates got into the water...since using PhosGuard and the algae is not growing back) and these things took off. I've attached pictures, and I'm just wondering if I should be worried or if it's harmless. Thanks!

You certainly got a ton of them. They are not bad per say but they do utilize calcium and will compete with more desirable inhabitants. I have a few stalks of my own.
