West coast (CA) saltwater tank

Hey, i want to make a tank for fishes and invertebrates from the coast off of california. Or mabye catalina. I have a 30 gallon reef tank, and im going to upgrade it to 60. With the leftover tank, i want to use it for west coast marine species. I cant seem to find anything really to fill it with. Any suggestions? Im not really sure where to start.
