i have 8 months with my salt water tank and i have loss a lot of fish
i have a 55 gallon tank a skimmer and a regular 330 filter. compact lighting and good water movement

I have currently in the in the tank a half back angel, firefish 2 gobies gold and tiger and a blenny.

I have a leather coral, finger leather coral, mushroom,2 curly cue and a long tip anenomie,

In the black out i lost a lot of fish, now somebody told me a wet dry filter is good and he goes months with out changing water.

I change 10 of the water every week, dont overfeed and the power goes out for 8 hours and all my fish die.

my questions how good is this wet/dry

thanks

It sounds like a reef tank is what you're working toward here rather than a FO. I would not recommend a wet/dry for that application. They tend to produce nitrates in large quantities. We need some more info before we can advise you on what to do next.
How much live rock do you have?
How much lighting do you have? Wattage and color.
What kind of substrate are you using?
What are your water parameters?
pH, temp, salinity, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, calcium, alkalinity.
What kind of skimmer do you have?
Please describe the water movement in the tank...how many powerheads?
