Where is my Ornate Wrasse??

I introduced an Ornate Wrasse Monday. As expected, he immediately burrowed into the sand for cover. Well, I haven't seen him since! It's been 1.5 days.

Is this typical? He was very healthy when purchased. Could he have died under there? I checked the spot he initially burrowed into and he's not there. It was right next to my heliofungia. Anybody see this before? TIA.
