White Brittle Worm in Pink Carnation

I recently got a pink carnation and to my surprise a hitch hiker is clinging to it. A White Brittle Worm which is barely noticeable due to its color blends perfectly. My question is, will it harm the pink carnation in anyway?

It is actually a white brittle starfish.
