Xenia ok to frag?

I have a huge xenia in my tank (ill have pictures up real soon!) , and its close to the back wall. Ive noticed a branch if it has almost completley seperated its self from the main part and is now on the glass. Any chance i can safely remove it and give it to one of my friends? or will taking it off the glass kill it?

xenia

Scrape it off at the base with a clean razor, it should be fine.

BTW, the only place I like my xenia is on the glass. I always thought it was cool.

What he said.
****ed stuff is like a weed.
It's growing all over my tank.
Every time I look behind a piece of rock I find a new outbreak.

i took some and put small rocks against the main bunch and it took about 1-2 weeks to get 18 dif groups of them. i moved the few rocks i grew them onto and then put them along the back of the tank so they grwe on the glass.

This has got to be one of the toughest corals out there. I dont think you have to worry about hurting it any by scrapping it off of the glass to give it to a friend.
