Over the past 6 months, I have had 5 small yellow ball sponges started growing as volunteers. One is the size of a golf ball now. As sponges are difficult to care for, I wonder if this means I could raise a red or orange ball sponge as well? I am aware of their delicate needs and zero tolerance for touching air. I run a open system that promotes small creatures circulating in the water column, so feeding shouldn't be an issue as these volunteers are slowly growing.
