I just have a question (maybe 2) about curing LR.

Should I drop a heater in the tub that I'm curing the rock in? The water is at 69-70 degrees since it's on the lowest floor of my house. Is that too cold?

The second is, do I have to have sand in the bottom of the tub, or can I do without?

Yes put in a heater ... some of the beneficial bacteria will die if it's too cold!!!

And no you don't need sand in the tub ... just a PH or 2 depending on tub size and a heater.

Yeah, well, this rock is so dead I don't know what to do with it. I'm hoping I can nurse it back. UPS screwed up and it ended up sitting for days because they misrouted it. The smell was unbearable and there were dead crabs, worms, and coral all over the package.

I don't think I'm going to get it to come back at all.
