Sorry guys, didn't know where else to put this...seems like the regional forums are all but dead. Anyways, i'm heading up to Sin City next thursday, and would like input from any locals on good fish stores to check out. Livestock selection doesn't matter to me, as i'm looking to bring back equipment as luggage...although looking at nice livestock wouldn't hurt either. Obviously, i'm gonna be around the downtown/strip areas , but i'll have a rental car and the only spot outside that area on my agenda is Primm. Suggestions? TIA!

Hello 808, my mom and half brother lives in Las Vegas by the Henderson area. It is quite close to the strip. Anyways, I found this local fish store there when I visited back in November and is better than any LFS here in Montgomery County, MD where I live. The gentleman who owns it is pretty knowledgeable and nice. SW fish and corals/anemone are really really good. They even have a panda puffer (dog faced puffer with white and black coloration). That's pretty difficult to find here where I live.

Green Valley Aquarium 7025563458 on 55 S Gibson Rd. Henderson, NV.

Coming from the strip, take 15 South, then 215 East. Exit Gibson (make a right). Call them up if you'd like.

Good luck and don't forget Orleans have one of the best and cheapest steaks after 10PM bro, take care!

Thanks for the info! I tried doing a quick search on the net a couple days ago and i don't remember seeing that name...i'll definitely check it out.

Where is the Orleans at? I only remember some kinda steak special at Plaza i think it was. $2.99 or 3.99 steak and eggs?

I'm going to Las Vegas in Febuary. I will check that LFS out, too. The Orleans is located 4500 West Tropicana Avenue. It is off the strip. Down the road from New York New York. I have stayed there many times. Here is there website. http://www.orleanscasino.com/ . The rooms are all mini suites and are very reasonable. 808 where are you staying at? I go twice a year and have stayed in alot of different places. I hope you enjoy your trip.

808, sorry. I was trying to quote you but for some reason it instead said that I reported you. I contacted the advisors and moderator to give them a heads up. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Remo is next to MGM and they have 3.99 steaks too. Bourbon Street is another hotel right by the strip. It is to your right on Bally's side (close to the Bally's actually). They have steak and eggs breakfast for cheaps too. We tend to look for the less-recognized hotels whenever we want to stay overnight at the strip. However, I normally drive home to Henderson whenever I visit.

Regarding the LFS, they have a pretty good selection of both SW and FW fish. Equipments are reasonably priced. I would've bought a lot over there if I didn't have to fly back. They especially have good corals and inverts. It's a simple looking LFS. No fuss. Just fish. Good luck.

808 and AMANIQU77,
I just wanted to give you an update. I am in Las Vegas and leaving Friday. I went to Green Valley Aquarium. I was very impressed. They had a nice selection of Fresh and Saltwater tanks. They really seemed to know what they were doing. If I lived around here that would be where I would shop. I also went to Tropaquarium on Tropicana. It was also a very nice store. It also had a very nice selection. Just thought I would let you know. Thanks!
Jim
