20 gallon asian biotope

Hi im new to the forum ,and my extra 20 gallon looks so sad sitting there empty. I was hoping to turn it into a asian biotope. Is there anyone out there who has one? I would still appreciate you comments if not. I have many south, central, and north american fish but i've never bothered with an asian biotope. Please tell me the general area so i know. lol. thank you.

Don't have one myself but you could do a peaceful school of barbs (cherry, checker, 5-banded, etc) with a honey gourami, and also perhaps some kuhli loaches on the bottom.

Thanks. Is 10 cherries too much. Or will they stress the gourami? Could i try a trio of gouramis, and skip the barbs entirely?
