I am setting up a new 20 gallon tank. It will be moderately planted, highly filtered, gravel/Eco-complete substrate,3 smaller/medium pieces of driftwood, and a couple of homemade rock formations. Here is my stocking idea.

6 kuhli loaches
2 German blue rams (heard mixed results with shrimp)
8 otos
12 Red cherry shrimps
1 dwarf gourami
8 marble hatchets
12 nerite/ramshorn/mystery snails

Any additions and or subtractions or suggestions? Thanks.

For a 20 gallon tank your list is way overstocked. Even if you use the outdated bad rule of one gallon for every inch of adult fish, you'd still be overstocked. You don't need that many snails in your tank, I have three mystery snails in my 20 gal and that's plenty. You've got two carnivores(loach and hatchet) and two omnivores(ram and gourami) in there with herbivores. I'd say pick the ones you like the best and do a lot of research on them. Learn the fish's bioload, that will help you out in picking which ones you want.
