3 tank conversion, i'm at it again !!!!!

here is my final stone setup. now it's time to grout with colored caulk.
looks good, stone was a good alternative to a wood trim.

I used liquid nail for the first 2 bricks, but it was not going fast enough for me. so I grabbed my wife's glue gun, WOW, it was like using crazy glue. you have 3 seconds to glue and stick before the glue hardens. then I would put a spot weld on the bottom of the brick for extra strength. sometimes you have to think outside the box with these projects. lol

I love the final look! Nice job! If I wasn't as carpentry challenged as I am, I probably would have tried something similar after seeing this.

This is amazing. I'm only 16 but when I have my own place ill defiantly do something like this! And being able to say "yeah I did it all myself" must be a great feeling and sense of achievement. Well done!

ok i'm finally finished, I think
the as you can see, the FAKE-Mortar worked out well.

what I did was use brown caulk, but I was not happy with the results. it looked too fake and smooth, looking more like plastic than grout. so what I did was grind up some stone pieces to make a dust. I then brushed the dust on top of the caulk and it ended up looking more like grout. it also helped with making the rocks look more blended.

I was happy with the result.

here are some fishies. there are around 70 fish in there now.
this is my salt water simulated tank. I've done my share of marine tanks, they were fun but it was a lot of work.
a FW tank tanks require minimum to no maintenance if you have the correct hardware. I do a 20% water change once a week, only to remove nitrates, otherwise the water is crystal and the chems are 0 across the board.

Personally, i find the glolight fish are tacky. But they seem to work,color-wise, with your tank. Way to go.

40 glows
8 danios
4 silver dollars
8 barbs (albino and black)
3 angles
2 plekos
2 pictus
1 ralph
i'm not sure what I have in there anymore, lol.

as for the glow's
I was never a fan of them but they work well in this specific setup giving me the colors I need to simulate a salt tank. they do work well for schooling, I have many different schools that go back and forth. the parrot keeps them in a school so they move in a group, looks nice.
