Ok. I currently have a 45 gallon tank, trying to cycle it. No fish yet ( of course!).

Fluval 306 canister filter. I added some media to my smaller tank, ( cycled ) which I hope I can later remove and put into my larger tank in case it's cycle is starting to slow down.

Fish: 4 Bolivian rams (I hope I can get at least one mating pair! :) )

Debating Rummy nose tetras, Neon tetras, or cardinal tetras. (8)

10 guppies

1 Pictus catfish (Or maybe a few oto's)

How are you "trying" to cycle the 45g now? Why not just take the media you have in the 10 gallon and use it in your 45 since it's cycled?

I didn't have any biological media until recently. My biological filter all grew on my sponge pads and mechanical. It's kinda a crappy filter. I'm planning on using some gravel as seed, and I put some filter media in my old filter. I'm hoping that will develop enough BB to put in my new filter to give it a good jumpstart.
