95 gal tank

i started setting this 95 Gallon tank, thought i was going to go cichlids but i read they like to destroy plant and i want this to be a planted tank. Do Cichlids really uproot and destroy plants or would i be all right. Also any pointers for plants and what not i am all ears and open minded. thank you

What type of cichlids? And some have African as well as South American cichlids in a planted tank with no issues. Others like me not so well. They tore all my Anubias and java fern up like crazy!! No more plants for me.

The only one i was able to translate was the tri color peacock, the rest only get 8-10 cm
