A ? about Java Fern

Ok so my Anacharis died, it wasn't a healthy one. So I got some Java Fern. I read they shouldn't be rooted so I took the lead weight off of my Anacharis and put it on the Fern. Was that ok? Thx for your time.

Java fern should be tied to a rock or a piece of wood. Eventually if grows ok, it will attach on its own.

Wow! Your Anacharis died? Must have been in bad shape. I like to wedge the java in a crack on DW and just let it grow.

Yeah it was. It was the only live plant PetSmart had at the time! Yeah 1 little plant left.

I have 2 Java fern, one i took the roots and weighed it down with a large castle decoration piece. the other i used fishing wire and strapped it to the back of said castle. Both are doing fine, i just hear the ryzome has to be in the water.
