Just thought I would post to say goodbye to my sailfin plec fondly known as Fugly who is being re-homed tomorrow. After 'advice' from my local pet shop I purchased my little algae eater and brought him home to my 40l tank where he grew from around one and a half inches to six inches in 4 months, devoured all my plants despite being fed algae wafers, vegetables and flakes and now needs to go. His bioload is huge. He's too big for my other tank and despite being big and healthy right now I know it's only a matter of time before he is stunted and ultimately dies. So lesson learned, I will be doing my research in the future...bye bye Fugly and good luck for a long and happy life in your new home :) x
