The ones in the lfs that say they are for 300 litres are like the same height as the tank and a bit more difficult to hide I thought when I saw them. AT the moment I have a fluval....2 maybe something like that. Its quite old but its so easy so change bits inside!
HOB or canister? I would say for a 60-75g 2 AC50's would be better than an AC110 but I would probably go with 2 AC70's or and AC50/70/Fluval C4 and a small canister to stuff lost of stuff in.

Thanks for all your suggestions everyone :)

The tank I bought came with an axternal canister filter so I'll use that. Even with a spray bar there are a couple of dead spots, so I might add in my little internal fluval to help.

On that note - is it best to use a spray bar for water movement or the 'duck bill' attachment?

I've always gone for the spray bar and angled the the pipes so the holes go in different directions (but mainly pointing towards the surface).
