Last night I tested my water. Ammonia - no problems. Nitrites - no problems. Nitrates - no problems. pH - dropped a full point!!!

Okay, so it didn't really. I hadn't rinsed my test tube, and I guess the nitrite or nitrate test is a little acidic... I rinsed the test tube very well after that, found my normal pH, and picked my dropped stomach off the floor.

What an idiot!

 Oh QTOFFER, you're just too good for me! I am pretty lax about which tubes I use, but I really do normally rinse them after every test. I guess I was lazy last night. No harm done at least.

BTW, what is a diamond etching pen?

A pen that etches glass with diamonds?

and its hard to lable tests, to, when they come with 4 test tubes and 6 tests..

When you work in a big lab, as I do, you become anal-retentive about lots of things! :D

A diamond etching pen is just a writing stylus encrusted with tiny industrial diamonds. They're great for writing on glass or hardened steel surfaces. Most art stores and hardware stores carry them for craft projects or for writing serial #s on your valuables.
