I have been working on a theory regarding structures in the aquarium and my results seem to be indicating that as the number of interactive entities (i.e., individual fish or groups of fish that tend to act together) increases, the number of suggested structures increases more than proportionately. In other words, the ratio of fish to structures (for a general case, specifics are going to vary of course) is not constant for any number of interactive entities. Contraily, one needs more structures per fish as the number of entities increases since more potentially bad fish-to-fish interactions are possible as the entity count increases.
So my question is this: does this match up to your experience or not? Do you see a benefit in having more structures (hiding places) than fish if the number of fish is very high compared to very low?
