Activated Carbon?

Ive been reading some posts that include AC thoughts. One question, is AC the one that comes with the undergravel filter or with the aquaclear mini? or which one is it?
IS it alright to use it?
Does it last?
Better options?

Activated carbon is the black stuff. I don't know if it comes with an UGF or the Mini as I've never had either, but I'm guessing it may be part of the proprietory filters.

IMHO, unless you are removing meds or tints from driftwood, AC is unneccessary. Not harmful to use it, although it can leach out stuff its absorbed if left in for long periods of time. Better to save it for specific purposes as mentioned.
