We got a new fish yesterday, too. My husband bought a little brichardi cichlid for his 29 gallon tank.
I tried to talk him into a kribensis which probably would have been more suitable in a community tank, but he really likes the brichardis (and the LFS wasn't much help--"Oh, he should be fine in there.")
Right now its pretty small (only about 1 1/2 inches) and it won't get more than 4". I think the South American puffer will do fine with it, and the pleco never comes out of her hiding spot. The only fish I'm not sure about are the four pearl danios and truthfully, it wouldn't break my heart to find them a new home. They're very pretty, but much too hyper for my taste.
