jsoong (or anyone else) take a stab at this one...

I decided to try out this new Microbe Nite-Out to start my tank cycling. My pH was holding steady at a 7.2, added the Nite-Out last night and today I am getting different readings for my pH. Any thoughts?

Never bother reading the pH during a cycle. The elevated levels of Ammonia and/or Nitrate can mess with the readings.

Yeah I'm not vesting too much in the numbers I am getting now before it has cycled. However, I did a lot of work on mixing my R.O. and tap to get a certain pH/Gh/KH (as you know well Purrbox) :) and I just want to make sure things don't get too screwy. I also have no fish in the tank yet. I want to make sure things are alright before I put them in. I didn't know if it was the chemical that directly affects the pH, or the fact that it is starting the cycle that is affecting it. Maybe both.
