African butterfly fish

Hey guys!
so whenever i check aquarium sites, i always find the same thing about this interesting fish: "the tank must have a tight fitting cover to stop these fish from jumping out"

...but my one of my lfs have one of those in a tank w/o cover...so, people just exaggerate or this lfs owner has a unique buttlerfly fish .

whats the deal? any experience w/ this fish? i want to buy one of those!

They live within the top water column/surface and even though I have not known them to be jumpers (have seen them jump though), their fidgety nature can lead to jumping if they are startled by other, more active or aggressive fish.
