Since this isn't in the planted forum, I'm going to assume you have no plants. No need to have the light on at all really. Just to see the fish. I only turn the lights on on my 150g for about 10-15 minutes every 2-3 days when I feed my fish. Don't have any air stones in any of my tanks, so can't comment there.
