Aquarium Advice Regular
I have a 40 gallon tank and I was wondering if the air pump was really necessary because it makes an ugly mess of billed that sit on tom of the water. What do you guys think?

If you have a filter that has an outflow that breaks the water surface you may be able to make do with no airstone on the assumption you're not over stocked.
