This is my tank, can anyone tell me how to grow algae? I want to establish some good home grown algae Bc my fire bellied toads are starting to mount each other and come may I HOPE they breed successfully. Want to have algae for the polliwogs.

Does the aquarium get direct sunlight or do you have a nice light for it? A good light source is crucial.

I have a wire lid and the window is about two feet to the right of my tank. What type of lid or lamp would I need?

Any light, but lots of it (you don't really need more lights, just leave it on longer).
