Algae bloom?

I have a 55 gallon tank with 8 bucktooth tetra. I've recently had a really bad algae bloom. What do I do to get rid of it?

How long are your lights on a day? Is the tank near a window? Are there any live plants in there?

I have a blue light. I turn it off at night. It's right by a window but it has a curtain and I have no live plants

When you say "Algae Bloom" are you describing cloudy water or brown Diatom algae covering the decor? If the problem is cloudy water, unstable water conditions, consistant with new setups often bring on harmless Algae blooms. It will clear up in a few weeks as long as regular weekly water maintenence is practiced. Diatom algae will eventually be over
run by green algae. You can speed things along by larger WC's, careful feeding & less light.
