So... I have brown and green algae in my tank. No clue what to do. It's been cycling for a little over a month. Just appeared recently, smells awful when I wipe it out with a paper towel. Cory cats don't seem interested in eating it, not sure if they would or not.
Lights- I have no clue. Tank was a kit with no real explanation of the lights or anything.
What should I do? Water change?
Please help.
I'm exhausted and I don't know what I should do. It's been a long day of trying to scrub algae off plants and glass and rocks and worrying about my fish.
Maybe I worry too much, but I don't want to mess up and hurt my fish.

Sigh... was hoping it wouldn't come to that, but I'll try it. Thanks for the advice. How many algae eaters and what kinds would I want for a 26 gallon?

Okay, thanks. Would he be fine with my Cory cats, platy, and candy cane tetras?
