Algea growing on sand

I left my fish Alone for five days and when I cane back there was algea on some parts of the sand. I've been doing water changes and cleaning the sand but it comes back. What should I do?

what kind of algae? Brown? Green? Slimy?

It's like light green

Now, theres brown algae spots on some clay decorations!

brown is diatoms most likely. it it kind of rusty looking?

as far as the green... how much/often do you feed? water parameters? water change schedule? stock? lighting schedule? any windows around?

I just did some research and it's probably because I left the daylights on the whole time I was gone! But yeah it's rusty looking.
