Almond Leaves (Catappa) to lower the pH

Hi All,

Any suggestion of using Almond Leaves (Catappa) to lower the pH ?

Has any one Tried ?

Read in few site it works but chnages the whater color little...

Please Share your Feed back

Works via the same process as driftwood. The leaves contain tannic acid that leeches into the water. Will turn your water a tea colour by the time wanted ph is reached and will take time.
The leaves will have to replaced as they decay or your just adding debris to your tank.

Is it advisable or not ? my PH is at 7.8 on planted tank after googling found this

Any other alternate solution to reduce ???

7.8 is not that high just make sure you acclimate your fish properly and buy good stock and shouldn't have an issue.

Peat moss is easier though as said your pH is fine.
