In my 30 gallon, I am going to have Dwarf Gouramis, Ottos, Cordys, and Barbus Pentazonas. I was going to have about 4 mollies (with their like of salt), and the ottos (and their dislike of salt), but I dont think that is a good match now.
Is it OK?
Or should I find an alternative (like Platys)

You don't need to add salt with mollies. They have been captive bred for so many years in freshwater environments.

I have several mollies with no salt. They are doing fine for a year now, they have been breeding as well.

We had 4 in freshwater only and they were popping out fry like crazy. The fry are now living in James' mothers tank two years later.
