Ammonia source

When cycling, what are some alternative methods of adding ammonia? So far I've been using fish food but it's barely giving me a reading at all. I know pure ammonia is the preferred method, and I haven't looked for it yet but i have heard it's hard to find in Australia,

a dead shrimp will cause a lot more ammonia than fish food, but it can start to smell pretty bad

Well you can use a lot more fish food or the stinky raw shrimp

To cycle my 30g tank, I used bacterias in bottle and a Betta sp.

Then you can start to add fishs progressively
