Angelfish losing stripes

I've had an angelfish for a while now, and lately right after I turn the tank lights off, I notice him hanging near the bottom. My angelfish is a light yellow/beige color with dark brown stripes, but at night when he hangs near the gravel, he turns just pale yellow with no stripes. Is this normal for angelfish?

Most fish lose color when the lights are off. If he is active and eating I would not worry.

+1 ... sounds just like my TigerBarbs ... colors pale when the lights are out.

Lol my angelfishs eyes turn from red to clear at night. Its normal for angels.

My neon tetras lose almost all of their colors. One day I was checking them out right after the light timer went on and I freaked out, I googled it and thought they had Neon Tetra Disease! LOL.
