I'm working on the final addition to our 29 gallon community tank and I'm considering adding 2 male apistogramma of different species.
Current stock
7 bloodfin tetras
5 skunk corydoras
1 angelfish
We want something with a little personality and color. While getting a male/female pair sounds fun, I'm worried that would result in cory trauma. I've heard male apistos who don't look too similar should avoid too much aggression. Anyone have experience?
Lightly planted tank, decent decor. Will add more hiding spots before getting apistos. Will also go for local apistos since the water's a touch basic - 7.6-7.8 and I want fish used to those conditions.
