Apistos in a 29 gallon?

I didn't need another tank, but my friend hooked me up with a free 29g and stand with everything included. I was deciding what fish to get and I came across Apistos, which is a fish I've never had before. How many apistos should or could I put in a 29? Also, I wanted to put a school of rummynose tetras, which is another schooling fish I've never had before.

Personally I don't like crowding my apisto's so I would add a trio (1 male-2 females) and 15 rummynose. Is that all your planning on adding?

Yeah, that's all I wanted for this tank really. 3 was actually the number I wanted to hear.

Just watch the females as individual males can be really hard on them. Some males will spawn with multiple females and others will really harass or even kill the non favorite female. Just watch and have somewhere to move a fish if need be, even if it's just a breeder box with some floating plants in it.
