Aqua scape rocks

Can I buy landscape rocks from Home Depot? I need some flat rock.

You certainly can! I think they're called landscaping stones.. I would definitely call first to make sure they have some.

I'm sure the lfs get them from the same sources and then jack the price way up lol

You may be better off just going to a landscape supplier they will have slate, sandstone, etc and it will likely be way cheaper than retail.
