Hey, today i bought a paradise fish (Macropodus opercularis)
in my local pet store. They told me the fish whould work with my platys, and that they had the needs and behaviour of a gurami.

Since my 60 liter aquarium was having a rough time with a disease, i put the paradise fish in my backup aquarium.

Then the paradise fish ripped out one of my platys eyes...
I feel so sorry for the platy, because the eye is red and dangling behind when it swims...

I instantly isolated the paradise fish in a invisible plastic bag and put it in the corner of the aquarium. Now i have two emergency questions i have to know as soon as possible (1 pm here now):

-Should i put the platy do death?
-What should i do about the "paradise" fish?

Thank you.

Wow I'd keep the platy for a while and see how he/she heals and If you have another tank I'd put the paradise fish in it if it's compatible. I'd just let nature take it's course on the platy and let it die on it's own or heal whichever one happens. I would not kill the platy I'd let him die on his own or heal. Did the other platys start defending the injured one or what?
