aquarium lights

i was just wondering how long i should leave my lights on daily, for best fish health and minimul algea.... i have a timer, but just dont know how long to leave them on... thanks

with or without plants? i say about 10 to 12 hours, without plants maybe 8 or the same as with plants

I have mine on for 12 hours a day. But I also have a 1 hour break at noon. It helps discourage algae.

i dont have plants, so i think i will set it at like 10 hours or so...
