I have a fairly new Aqueon 55/75 filter (30 days old), and it has never made any noise except for the water coming back into the tank. I performed a water change on Thursday and had no issues. When I came home form work yesterday, the filter was making this grinding noise. It sounds like an air pump or something rattling around. I took apart the filter motor housing and cleaned everything including the impeller really well. I re-installed it and it is still making the same noise. It seems to be working fine, and other than the noise I like this filter. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
