are silver dollars really plant destroyers?

while i dont have the capacity right now, i have been liking silver dollars, and i hear how they will decimate any plant population, like a clown loach and a few snails.

for those who have kept silvers, how much do they gorge on plants?

A whole lot! I wouldn't add plants that you want to keep with them. They will definitley rip them to shreds. I've tried a few times.

Yes they are plant eaters. They will strip your plants quickly.

I have 5 in a tank with lots of anubius plants and while they have the occasional nibble it's not enough that you notice any damage to the plants.

They've been in with these plants for quite a while now.

You should be fine with anubius, i don't think they like the thicker waxy leaves maybe.

At my LFS they have them in with a bunch of amazon swords and the amazon swords have no leaves, lol
