My daughter forced me to get a Petco baby Betta through tears about a month ago. We keep him by himself in a 5 gallon next to my bed. I though it was kind neat watching him develop. He eats Hikari Bloodworms and NLS.

Below is him and his tank from a month ago.

Plants are Anubias, Java Fern, Java Moss, and random Beta Bulbs.

Aw! This is awesome. I picked up a baby betta about a month ago. It's crazy how much these guys grow in such short time.

And good job to your daughter. Everyone needs encouragement in MTS. haha

He grew up so pretty! I have now bought two (2!) baby female bettas at petco only to have them grow up to be short finned males that look alot like yours. But it is fun to see them grow and change-- one was this crazy brown color and once he got all settled in he turned blue and red. I exchanged one for an actual female who looked a bit stressed and glum with odd murky colors and I keep watching her to see out her color changes too!

Well apparently my boys all grown up!

That's such a cute collection of pictures! I have a betta baby from Petco as well, and I LOVE her (at least I think it's a girl). She is very feisty, fun, and adorable. They're so much fun to watch grow.
