back of tank decor?

I was wondering I am thinking of making a 3d backgrounds out of slate ,what silicon that is not expensive and safe for fish!

Someone suggested plain black to me and i wasnt sure but makes the tank look deeper & enhances colours.

Black background is really nice. It makes the colors pop and your right when you see a fish in the back it gives the illusion the tank goes back forever. I love my black background.

The thing I like abou the black best is that in a tank where the top is bare like mine, it still makes it look like there's something going on there it also hides the cords well
