I think I may have to reseal all of my aquariums... But I'm not sure... I've tried to research it, but I can't tell if my aquariums need out or not.. The edges are coming off and some if them don't look the best.. So if they are crumbling, should I replace them? I could take pics if you guys would prefer to see them yourself.. I just don't want leaks or worse future problems!

Did you purchase the tanks new or used? Some pics would probably be helpful.

yes, some pix would really help. It's not uncommon to have to reseal tanks as time passes. They do age and crack and need resealing usually.

Here is a few of the smaller tanks and I got a few more of the 125

Looks like they might have been used to hold gerbils or something. That's usually a good sign. It looks more asthetic than anything from what I'm seeing, though. I wouldn't worry about it if they hold water.

It's just kind of peeling off at the edges, or on one of the tanks it barely has any seal! Now, in the 10 gallon, one of my kids had dropped a battery in there in our process of moving... and it still have a little water in the bottom... so the battery leaked all over the rocks and stuff, so when I just cleaned it out the other day, I noticed it pealing really bad, even with the touch of my finger, and so I'm afraid that one is because of the acid from the battery... but then that got me wondering about the other tanks.. cause I would REALLY hate to fill up the 125 and end up with a leak.. or even worse, it just bust open everywhere in my living room... that would NOT be a good thing! It is scary to even think about! lol

if it was holding gerbils at one time fish will die the tank cant be used for fish the ammonia in the gerbils urine it's deadly and is impossible to completely get out of the seals

None of my tanks have held any kind of animal, besides fish... Well, maybe some spiders from the garage, and some other insects... But other than that, just fish! So no worries there.. But they are really old tanks... Although, some of them were given to me from a family friend and she had then stored in a shed, the could have had mice crawl in there? But I know when I dug them out, there was no sign of anything but spiders! Lol
