So Im saving up for a 30 gallon tank I would go bigger but I live in an apartment and I'm really not to sure the floor can handle it.

Anyways I love my beer and liquor just as much as the next guy and want to make a tank themed with bottles . How would a bottle stand up to being under water would it be safe for the fish? I was thinking like a moonshine bottle where the fish can swim in would be cool.

As long as you clean off the labels thoroughly. You wouldn't want to put the paper and glue into the water.

Cool beans and ya id take the labels odd butttt are there any paints anyone knows of safe for tanks and work on glass? Then I could roughly paint the logos on

He probably used an epoxy type sealant over the bottle. Acrylic paint will come off in the water, by the way. I would think you would need some type of enamel paint if you go the route of painting the logos on.

Nice taste in liquor btw! Baileys and jäger are two of my faves. How's the adult chocolate milk? I haven't given that a try yet.

Just a tip - if any of the bottles are standing up or tilted up in any way, you will probably have to remove them to clean them. And let me tell you - they need cleaning. I did something similar with Mason jars and ended up taking it all out; it was just gross. I would suggest either corking them or planting them.

I'm going to blow the bottom put and put an airstone in there

Try marine paint out to paint them on. You can get them at either a small hardware store or a boat or pool shop

I'm not sure what kinds of epoxy are safe, but I doubt it would take much googling to find out. I remember someone on here mentioning the one that the people on Tanked use to seal the stuff they put in some of their tanks. Give me a minute and I'll find the thread.

Edit - they use an acrylic urethane topcoat. Pretty much the stuff they use to seal auto paint. I think if you made sure to get a thick, even coat all over the bottle you would be fine. I might try scuffing the glass with sandpaper before coating though, to be sure it adheres.
