Hey all.

For background: I have a 20 gal x high tank, currently housing 8 guppy adults and another 8 juveniles, 3 otos, and 1 amano shrimp. Mainly plants (amazon sword, Val, crypt parva, anubias, onion plant, moss ball, micro sword, & a red leafed stem plant called red naesea (sp?). The tank has been up and running for past 12 mo, temp 76, ph 7.5, nitrIte 0, ammonia 0, nitrAte 5; 25-30% water changes weekly. The fauna eat either hikari guppy pellets or algae floating wafers, the flora get API co2 and flourish with root tabs for the amazon and crypt

So I noticed BBA on my slow growing plants and some decor for past few weeks. I cut the lights to 6 hr (marineland double LED) and tried the 72 hr blackout and still have it. I'm considering peroxide and trying to figure out the details. From perusing the forums, these would be the steps:
1- check parameters, turn off filter and air stones to increase contact time
2- draw up peroxide in a medicine syringe, and spot treat affected leaves/decor
3- use no more than 2-3cc/10gal
4- leave it alone for 15-20 min
5- do a partial water change, turn on equipment and check parameters

Is this correct or am I missing any steps?

Thanks in advance,
Angel

Some success!

One last thing: how often can I repeat this treatment? Daily? Weekly?

Thanks again in advance,
Angel.
