I just got a Betta and need info on it. Like water temp and do I just put it in the tank or do it like other fish and slowly get it ready to go in.

What other kind of fish do you have? It likes Warmer water, I'd say 75-78.

I'd put some of your tank water into the cup so he can get used to the different water. Do that slowly for 30 min.

I'm assuming your tank is cycled?

You do need to slowly acclimate all fish, including betta.

Looks to me like it is a male veil tail. Fairly easy to care for but is often mistreated. I wouldnt ever put 1 in a tank less than 2.5g. 5 minimum is a safe bet but a 10g would be better still. Low water flow with mid to high 70s temp is good for it.

It will be in a 5g. I read that it can live with a african dwarf frog so it would just be the 2 things in there. I will have a place for the frog to hide.
