What are types of bio media and what is the best type Or filter media

When searching for bio-media, look for products that have extremely large surface areas.

As far as sumps go, I would personally use 'Marine Pure balls/spheres'. I even bought some to brake in half and add to my aquaclear hang on back filter.

One marine pure ball apparently has 240 square feet of surface area. So if you cant find something better, this is a good start.

Other good brands I recommend you search for are Ehiem, and Seachem. Both companies make their own biomedia.

I'm not sure still if I should set up a wet dry or some type of filter yet

I use SeaChem Matrix and Purigen in my 56 gallon build with great success and crystal clear water.
