Just wondering are bio rings better to have than a course sponge? Or use both or what?

Any one have any opinions. Or have used them.

Thanks
Danny

in what type of filter? id use both, as the bio-rings will have significantly more surface area for the bacteria to grow on and the sponge can work as a mechanical filter

I'm running dual cascade 1000's I have a 60 Gal.. well is said 60 gal but it holds 72 gal if you want to be technically correct.

then i would go with both, with some time of very fine material like polyfil or other type of fine filter pad at the end to "polish" the water
