Black Beard Algae

HELP ME!!?? How do I get rid of the black beard algae attacking my tank! I would like to get it under control and I am tearing the tank down this weekend so its perfect time! Help!

Is this a planted tank or do you have plastic decorations? Either will have different options for cleaning up the BBA. The only downside is that it will be in your filter, substrate, and everywhere else depending on how bad the bloom is.

How long of a lighting cycle do you have per day and is there any sunlight that hits the tank?

If I had an algae problem, I would try to remove it manually along with changing most of the water

If your tearing down the tank this weekend then scrub them off with a brush and if you have DW or plants you can treat them with hydrogen peroxide 3% while out of the tank.
