I have Black Blast in a couple of my tanks. The MSDS is very similar to the composition of the house substrate from aquariumplants.com. I've got a scaleless catfish and an RCS colony thriving on the stuff.

Good bit darker brown than the pfs or gravel I've seen, looks good.

The cichlids love it! It was a bare bottom for a few weeks and when I finally added the sand they started sifting right away!
